Panel Discussion for Parents at Tuesday's PTA Meeting

The next LMS PTA meeting will take place this coming Tuesday, January 27, at 5:30 p.m.

This is a meeting you won't want to miss! For the first time, the PTA - in partnership with LMS administration - will be hosting a panel discussion for parents on student resiliency, independence, and accountability.

Panel members will include trusted guidance counselors and mentors for students in our community, including:

  • Michelle Bailey, LMS Student Support Coach
  • Rachel Keller, LMS Guidance Counselor
  • Joy Kaeser, Response to Intervention (RTI) Program Lead
  • Lizzie Gendimenico, Baylor Middle School Counselor
  • Glenn and Carter Breazeale, Alpine Camp for Boys Directors
  • Camp Desoto leadership, including director Sarah Hurt

Parents will have the opportunity to hear expert perspectives on social and emotional growth and learning; resiliency in the face of school changes or setbacks; expectations for school transitions and long-term skills; best practices for technology use and building independence; and more.

Please submit questions on any of these topics ahead of time by emailing them to hello@lookoutmountainpta.org. We look forward to seeing you there for a valuable and engaging discussion!

Save the Date for Night Out for Lookout and Grandparents Day

Save the date for one of the most fun - and important - days of the school year! Night Out for Lookout and Grandparents Day are coming up on March 6.

Night Out for Lookout is an annual fundraising event held on the mountain every spring. The adults-only evening features a silent auction, live auction, and paddle raise alongside dinner, drinks, music—all in support of LMS. This year’s theme is “Saddle up for Lookout,” so get ready to dance the night away in your favorite blue jeans! The event will be held at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, and tickets will go on sale closer to the event. Stay tuned for information on auction items, live music, the PTA's special project announcement, and more - coming soon!

Grandparents Day - which will take place earlier that afternoon at LMS - is another treasured annual tradition that allows grandparents or other special family members to visit the school for performances, classroom tours, refreshments, and more. Grandparents will receive invitations for this special event in the coming weeks.
