Carnival Class Contests Are Underway!

Class contests to support the Carnival are in full swing! Congrats to Ms. Cooper's second grade class for winning last week's contest for the most donated costumes.

This week is all about stuffed animals, and we can already tell the competition is fierce. If your family hasn't contributed yet, there is still time to do so!

Here's how you can help:

  • THIS WEEK, through September 5: Send in gently-used stuffed animals (no larger than 2 feet tall)
  • September 8 - 12: Send in jamboree jars (empty glass jars with trinkets and treats - no chocolate, please!)
  • Save the date for Tuesday, September 30: The Carnival!

The LMS Carnival is one of the most exciting events of the school year for students - and one of the most important fundraisers for the school. Class contests help us gather gently used items to stock some of the most loved carnival booths!

This is a great way for the whole family to help support the event. Thank you for all you do for LMS!

Thank you to all of those who have turned in your Carnival Kitchen slips – Amazing!

We still need more of EVERYTHING on the list below! Email Sarah Ellis at LMSCarnivalKitchen@gmail.com or return the backpack slip to your child’s teacher to let us know how you can help.

The Coupon Book Sale Starts Tomorrow

From September 5 - 19, LMS students will have an opportunity to sell Hamilton County Schools' Kids First Coupon Books.  Each book costs $15, and LMS keeps $10 of each book sold to go toward important technology needs around the school.

This year, for the first time, the books will be available to purchase online - starting Friday!

Beginning Friday morning, the QR code below will take you to the ordering page. Share the link with your family, friends, and neighbors for easy purchasing. Hard copy order forms (along with a printed copy of the QR code) will go home in your student's backpack this afternoon.

We encourage each child to sell a minimum of two. There are multiple levels of prizes and incentives for students to sell as many as they can - stay tuned for more details. And, in keeping true to LMS tradition, the top sellers will be crowned the king and queen of the LMS carnival!

We need your help to make the Coupon Book Sale a success! If you are free to help process orders and count books, please volunteer for a shift by clicking here!

If you have questions, please contact Charla Nix at 870-292-2318. Thanks for all you do to support LMS!

Save the Date for the Fall Lookout Bookout

Are you looking for books to read and games to play with your children this fall? You are in luck - Lookout Mountain's second book and game share and exchange is kicking off this month!

Donations boxes will be posted outside LMS and Fairyland Elementary School, as well as inside the Hive and Lookout Mountain City Hall, from September 22 -26. Drop off your used items, and then come to Lookout Mountain City Hall on September 27 to swap or grab other gently used items for fall and winter fun!

Please see additional details below. Thank you to Sally Nelson for helping organize this fun community event!

Join the PTA

Thank you to all of the parents who have joined the LMS PTA so far this school year. If you are still interested in joining, it's not too late!

As a PTA member, you will stay informed about everything happening around LMS and serve as an important advocate for our community of students. When PTA gets involved, our children benefit. Our goal this year is  to have 100% parent and teacher participation.
