The Book Fair Is Coming Soon!

The LMS Library is excited to host the Scholastic Book Fair during the week of November 3-7!

The Scholastic truck will roll into town, and our children will get to buy engaging books, writing supplies, and fun posters- all to benefit our wonderful Library!

Students will shop during their library time. There will be no before or after school shopping times this year, but we will have an open shop time for parents and grandparents.

Please send your child’s money in a labeled envelope or sandwich bag. The Book Fair can take cash, credit card, checks made out to LMS, or you can load funds in your student's Scholastic e-wallet. Parents can also use credit cards during open shop.

Click here to shop our fair online starting November 1 or to set up your child’s e-wallet at the LMS online store.

Volunteers are needed!

We need your help during the Book Fair shopping times! No experience is necessary - just a willingness to help kids find good books.

Thank you for all you do to support LMS!

RSVP for the LMS Thanksgiving Lunch

Thanksgiving lunch is coming up on November 7 for families and special guests of kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grade classes!

Don't miss this special opportunity to join your student in the cafeteria during their lunch hour for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. RSVP forms were sent home in backpacks this week.

Families of 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders will have an opportunity to join their students for a special Valentines lunch in February.

Sign Up for Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences will begin next week! Be on the lookout for communication from your child's teacher about how to sign up.

This is a great way to learn about the progress your student has made so far this school year and how you can best support them moving forward. We encourage all parents to participate!

LMS Field Revitalization Breaks Ground

Last spring, LMS, the LMS PTA, and the Town of Lookout Mountain kicked off a joint collaboration to revitalize the LMS football field, so that it will be safer for students AND usable by the greater Lookout Mountain community. The project includes the installation of a new turf field - andwe are SO excited to share that we officially broke ground over Fall Break!

Demolition began with the portable classroom located adjacent to the field. The portable space served as a classroom in the early 1990s to support a growing student population, but it has been underutilized since the kindergarten wing addition was constructed in 1998. The old cement bleachers and unused goal posts have also been demolished.

Work will continue over the coming months - stay tuned for more progress updates! The PTA is still raising funds to support this generational project for our community. Please contact us at hello@lookoutmountainpta.org if you’d like to learn more.

Safety Remidners for Morning Walkers

As we move into Fall and Winter and the mornings grow darker, visibility is key for students walking to school.

Please be sure your child wears reflective gear, bright clothing, or uses a small flashlight or clip-on reflector so they can be easily seen by drivers. A few simple safety steps can help keep everyone safe on their way to school.

Support the Annual Fund

Giving to the Annual Fund is a great way to show your support for your child's education - and is 100% tax deductible.

Donations to the LMS Annual Fund support 8 positions at the school, in addition to providing valuable resources for faculty and staff, all while ensuring our students can learn and grow in a safe environment.

Our goal is 100% parent participation this year, so let's work together to make it happen! You can mail in your donation, submit your donation online, or use the QR code below to pay directly.

If you have any questions, please send an email to lmsannualfund@gmail.com.

Thank you for supporting LMS!
