Congratulations to the 2025 LMS Carson Scholar Nominee

Congratulations to fifth grader Anderson Burke, LMS's 2025 Carson Scholar nominee! The Carson Scholars Program awards college scholarships to fifth-grade students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, a commitment to community service, and strong writing skills. To be eligible for the program, students must maintain a qualifying GPA and show dedication to serving their community. This year's fifth grade class includes  several students who meet these high standards.

The eligible students were invited to participate in an essay contest, with essays judged anonymously by LMS teachers, who selected the top two submissions before Principal Haney made the final selection for the school’s nominee. We want to recognize all of the students who chose to participate in this rigorous process, in addition to Anderson: Georgiana Beasley, Eleanor Gerwin, Sarah Moore, Tennessee Pecht, and Rowan Williams (pictured below). Congratulations to these LMS scholars, and good luck to Anderson as he prepares his final submission for the scholarship contest!

It's Pajama Day!

TODAY is a school-wide pajama day! Send your student(s) in their holiday PJs or anything comfy. Second graders are also welcome to wear holiday hats/hair, to make up for the missed opportunity while at the Nutcracker last week.

Class holiday parties are tomorrow morning, followed by early dismissal at 11:30 a.m. for all students. Students will return to school on Wednesday, January 7.

We hope you have a safe, joyous holiday break!

The Good News Club Starts in January

The Good News Club is coming to LMS! Students are invited to join the afterschool club for fun games, snacks, and fellowship as they learn about Jesus.

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 14, directly after school from 3 to 4 p.m. The club will meet every Wednesday afternoon moving forward, through the end of the school year.

If you are interested in registering your student for the club, please fill out this registration form or use the QR code below. For questions, please contact Lisa Maclellan (Lisaemacl@gmail.com) or Stephanie Young (Stephanie@Lmpc.org).

Share Your Interest in an LMS Chess Club

Are you looking for an after school chess program that offers an amazing combination of chess lessons, laughter, and fun chess tournaments for kids? Let us know! The Knight School is interested in bringing a chess club to LMS.

In this kid-centered classroom environment, students have the opportunity to learn every cool trick, strategy, opening, and tactic in chessdom - all while having fun. The Knight School prioritizes fun first, sportsmanship second, and chess third. All experience levels would be welcome, from beginner to advanced.

The class costs $380 for the semester which can be broken up into 4 monthly payments of $95, or they offer a $20 discount if paid in full! The club would meet weekly on Mondays after school, from 3:00- 4:15 p.m.

If you are interested in enrolling your student in the chess club, please email Principal Emily Haney as soon as possible.  We are gauging interest before finalizing plans with The Knight School.

Reminder: Send In Holiday Program Photos for the Yearbook!

Don't forget to submit photos for the 2025-2026 school year to be included in the LMS Yearbook!

Send in your photos from the LMS Holiday program (along with any other recent school event photos!) to lookoutyearbook@gmail.com. Group photos are great and much needed!

Check the Lost and Found

Is your student missing a jacket, water bottle, or other item brought to school?

Check the Lost and Found rack - which has been moved to the entrance to the gym this year (NOT outside the LMS Office). There are tons of jackets, winter coats, and other lost items waiting to come home!

Congrats to the Annual Fund Gift Card Winner!

Congratulations to Ale and Thad Townes, who won the gift card raffle contest for donating to the LMS Annual Fund this month!

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far this school year. Giving is a great way to show your support for your child's education - and is 100% tax deductible.

Donations to the LMS Annual Fund support 8 positions at the school, in addition to providing valuable resources for faculty and staff, all while ensuring our students can learn and grow in a safe environment.

Our goal is 100% parent participation this year, so let's work together to make it happen! You can mail in your donation, submit your donation online, or use the QR code below to pay directly.

If you have any questions, please send an email to lmsannualfund@gmail.com.

Thank you for supporting LMS!
