Rising Kindergarten Parent Meeting is Today

Families of rising kindergarteners, mark your calendars! LMS is already hard at work planning a smooth transition into kindergarten for your student and family.

Please join LMS administration and staff for a Rising Kindergarten Parent Meeting TODAY from 5:30–6:30 PM, in the LMS auditorium.

The link to register for Kindergarten can be found on the Hamilton County Schools website.

Once you are registered, LMS asks that you please sign up for a screener session, where your child will have an opportunity to meet the kindergarten teachers and visit the classrooms for the first time.

Screener sessions will be held from 3:15 to 4:55 p.m. in the LMS Library on the following dates:

• Next week: Tuesday, April 28 - Thursday, April 30
• Tuesday, May 5 - Thursday, May 7

Congratulations to the LMS Teacher of the Year

For the first time since 1999, LMS faculty and staff have selected a Teacher of the Year to be recognized by Hamilton County Schools. Congratulations to Joy Kaeser for this special honor!

The entire LMS community is grateful for her dedication to the school and our students, both as a teacher in the classroom and the lead of the RTI program.

Principal Emily Haney will join Mrs. Kaeser this evening at the UTC Wolford Family Center for the district's Teacher of the Year Celebration.

Chess Club Summer Camp

The LMS Chess Club, led by the Knight School, has had a strong start this semester! For students who would like to continue playing and learning through the summer, the Knight School is offering week-long summer camp sessions.

• June 15 - 19 and July 6 - 10 at Bachman Community Center
• June 22 - 26 at Boyd Buchanan
